“The Space Between Notes Matters.”
Hi, I’m Stephan Meinl — composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.
Based in Wiesbaden, Germany, I create music that blends jazz sensibility, classical structure, and modern production. My work is driven by curiosity: exploring tone, space, and the subtle details that shape a musical moment.
Bio
Originally starting on guitar, I later expanded into piano and trombone, gradually developing a personal language across instruments. Since 2016, I’ve focused on producing my own releases — combining traditional musicianship with contemporary tools and workflows.
With a background in IT consulting, I approach music with both analytical clarity and creative freedom — a balance that informs my compositions and productions.
Live performance as a big band trombonist and in smaller ensembles has shaped my understanding of arrangement, interaction, and groove — elements that remain central to my studio work today.
My goal is simple: to create music that feels thoughtful, expressive, and sonically refined.
Collaborations
Studio Gear.
What began as a fascination with gear has evolved into a deeper focus on creative work. Today, I use a carefully chosen mix of acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, wind instruments, and studio software.
